You Can Shop, Stream Music And Do More With GTBank’s Habari

Guaranty Trust Bank (GTBank) has launched a new lifestyle application called Habari that allows customers shop, tream music, read books and magazines and more. The new app was introduced to a select audience on Friday at the Landmark event centre, Victoria Island, Lagos, Nigeria.

The man at the centre of the show, Segun Agbaje, the bank’s managing director, took the audience on a journey of how technology began to revolutionise the banking industry.

According to him, people may no longer need banks, but they will need banking in the nearest future. He argued that banking is no longer about the physical space as banking is now heavily driven by technology.

“Very soon only few banks will survive in a technology-driven age. These will be banks that are innovative and know that customers need more than a banking app,” he argued.

For him, it is based on an understanding of the new dynamics in banking that GTBank is ahead of the pack with the introduction of Habari. “Habari can do much more. It is an app that allows customers read magazines, listen to music, shop online and much more,” he said.

He explained that the difference between Habari and existing GTBank apps and platforms is that contents are monetised and for the first time GTBank will take a percentage from it.

At the event, attendees were able to experience and download the app on their mobile phones.

You dont have to be a customer of GTBank to use the app and it is available for download on Android and IOS enabled mobile phones.
