The showroom of Coscharis Motors located at Akin Adesola Street Victoria Island came alive to revving of the engines of Ford Explorer, Figo and Ranger as some journalists test-drove the automobiles at the unveiling on Tuesday.
The newly refurbished showroom boasts of an expansive space to display all the automobiles under the Ford brand, a cosy reception area and a state-of-the-art after sales service centre.
Speaking at the unveiling, Abiona Babarinde, general manager, marketing & corporate services, Coscharis Group, said Coscharis Motors is introducing formally into the Nigerian market, the Ford Protect package which was formerly called Extended Service Plan.
“The package offers free service for four years of 120, 000km on any Ford automobile purchased from any of our showrooms across the country,” he said. “The free service initiative was extended due to customers’ request. It shows a continued realisation of Henry Ford’s vision when he founded the brand many years ago.”
According to him, Coscharis Motors is proud to have the latest model of Ford Explorer, Figo and Ranger as the brand’s representative in Nigeria.
“We stand by the fact that our representation of Ford in Nigeria shows that we have the latest model in our market. We are proud to say that the 2016 edition are here in our showroom. We make the brand speak for itself. We don’t just sell the vehicle; we stand by the consumer beyond the sales.”

Recalling the difficulty in the early years of marketing Ford in Nigeria in 2001, Fabian Anuforo, sales manager, Ford, Coscharis Motors, said buyers were unsure where to get their vehicle serviced after purchase.
“That experience is no more,” he said. “Customers now demand for Ford. The Ford Protect has made people believe in the brand. Maintenance has been a challenge for customers but with the Ford Protect, that’s no longer the case.”
Furthermore, Varsant Rele, general manager, After sales, Coscharis Motors, says the Ford Protect Package covers the oil change, wiper plates, shocks, brake pads and it is inclusive of labour.
Finally, Abiona added that Coscharis has gone into vehicle financing with some financial institutions to ease customers’ needs. “For us at Coscharis Motors, our customers’ comfort is very important that is why after sales service is crucial to us. We have gone into vehicle financing with the reality of the market and economic situation.”
