Kamar Abass, chief executive officer, Natcom, made this known on Friday at the formal launch of the network at Jade Place, Victoria Island, Lagos, Nigeria.
According to him, ntel seeks to give its prospective customers value for their money by taking already existing 4GLTE further with 4GLTE-Advance network.
“I am delighted to be writing to you, on behalf of the staff and directors of NatCom, with the news that, today, this eighth day of April 2016, we start commercial activities on our newly commissioned 4G/LTE-Advanced network. Our very earliest customers will be able to buy and use these services in clusters, across Lagos and Abuja from sales outlets and agents featuring our bright new brand name: ntel.”
Abass further said the 4G/LTE-Advanced technology built on the 900/1800MHz spectrum will deliver an unbeatable and new customer experience of high-speed Internet Access up to 230Mbps, the fastest available in Nigeria today thus enabling a world of full mobile broadband experiences that will transform both lives and livelihoods.
“We are passionate at ntel about the power of Broadband to boost productivity and, thereby, transform lives, we expect to see this happen as ntel helps to accelerate the ongoing migration, from existing 2G and 3G services, to genuinely high-speed Mobile Broadband on 4G/LTE-Advanced,” he explained.
Corroborating Abass, Olajide Mafolabumi, while making a presentation on the kind of services consumers should expect from the network, said the first 100,000 people to redeem their reserved numbers and activate their ntel SIMs will get free on-net calls for life while data subscribers will get 3 months unlimited data usage on select bundles.
According to him, those who reserved their numbers and activate their sims will have the opportunity to be among ntel pioneers’ club who will be given VIP treatments by the network.
“If you reserve your number and activate your sim and then subscribe to any of our data plans, you will enjoy unlimited data plan for three months and you will be able to do anything you want,” said Mafolabumi.
In terms of pricing, he said ntel is offering smartphone data starter plan that will give consumers N1, 000 unlimited data. In addition, he said there is standard weekly plan for N2, 400 which offers unlimited date, sms, voice call. There is also a monthly data plan for N9, 000 which offers unlimited data usage, sms, some credits to make calls and it is inclusive of sim card.”
In further explained that consumers need smartphones that are 4GLTE-Advance complaint hence ntel has entered into strategic partnership with some smartphone manufacturers to make customers’ experience on the network enjoyable.
“We have smartphones in the first tier category like Tecno C5, Samsung S6 Edge, Knoka L570s. in the second tier category are: Tecno Boom J8, Infinix Note 2. Our router is ZTE MF-286 Cat6 4×2 mimo. It is one of the best routers available.”
Ntel will roll out one-stop sales support through its distribution channels. You can activate your sims at Slot stores in Lagos and Abuja. It is also working with Kong and Jumia to make its services available online.
