You can truly have an immersive experience that will exhilarate your senses at Pierre Hermes and L’Occitane stores that open in Paris and London today.
Pierre Hermé, also known as the “Picasso of pastry” is known for his new flavour combinations and for inspiring the humble macaron to haute patisserie. He made his first venture into fragrance by working together with French beauty brand L’Occitane en Provence in 2015.
The same partnership has birthed two sensory concept stores – in Paris and London. The store in Paris is a boutique conceived with the chef while the one in London is at L’Occitane’s new flagship store where Hermé’s sweet treats can be enjoyed within its beauty showcase.
“The immersive experience is explored through the five senses,” says Uxus CEO George Gottl, in a report by How To Spend It, “a botanical installation filled with roses, lavender, almonds and immortelle will guide visitors through the store; the Pierre Hermé dessert bar will tempt with macarons that smell just like the chef’s fragrance collection, and vice versa; sounds reminiscent of Provençe are to be piped through the store, and the ‘golden hour’ of the region is reflected in handpainted gilded tiles, reflective materials and lighting that casts a golden glow.”
At the Parisian Champs-Elysées boutique, which is christened 86Champs after its smart address, this there is a vibrant interior by interior designer Laura Gonzalez, and a Hermé-conceived dessert bar showcasing live pâtisserie demonstrations. L’Occitane beauty treatments bring the senses of touch and smell into play.
L’Occitane’s flagship London store in Regent Street will relocate to a 600sq m space redesigned by retail design specialist Uxus as “a restorative oasis of calm” featuring a specially designed Hermé macaron bar. Both stores offer a unique sensory experience.
